Is there still room for a new ma-

gazine today? The answer is yes,

provided you have a strong perso-

nality. KERB MOTORI wants to tell

the world of cars, motorbikes and

motorsport from another perspec-

tive. The magazine takes a cultural

approach, focusing on stories of

people, brands, places that few

know. We cater to a niche of fans

and we offer a mix of features and

news on current production, classic

models and racing. KERB MOTORI

was founded with the goal of beco-

ming your favourite magazine.

Don Sergio Mantovani is an institu-

tion. A friend of Jean Behra, Juan Ma-

nuel Fangio, Stirling Moss and many

others, he became the chaplain of

the drivers. In 1978 he built the new

church by demolishing the old crum-

bling one without the authorities

permission. He was sent to court

and sentenced to 10 months and 10

days in jail on probation: “That day

Enzo Ferrari called me - Don Ser-

gio recalls - and told me that if I

had been put in jail he was ready to

send me breakfast, lunch and din-

ner every day served in a Ferrari”.

Going to France, from north to

south in pursuit of the French moto-

ring legends. From Vichy to Magny

Cours, the place of Ligier, to speak

of Maserati, Hugo Pratt and Mike

Curb. Then on to Le Mans, scene of

the most famous race in the world.

Finally down to the Mediterranean

sea, to Provence, the Paul Ricard cir-

cuit, the Côte d’Azur and Nice, along

lavender perfumed landscapes that

symbolize the history of the Écurie

Pernod. Following a “fil blue”, the

color of the sea and the national co-

lour of France, also in motorsport.

No doubt about it – going racing on

the Bonneville Salt Flats gets under

your skin. The search for speed is

so downright addictive, they ought

to stick a warning label on the sign

off the I-80 freeway from Salt Lake

City directing you to the so-called

Bonneville Speedway: “Warning:

Turnoff can lead to Salt sickness. Be-

ware!!” After a three-year learning

curve on the Salt Flats, I wound up

grabbing FIM and AMA Land Speed

Records in 2009 with Triumph, and

again in 2010 with a Norton prepa-

red by speed guru Matt Capri.

From Modena to Reims, in Champa-

gne, the land of excellence. Here

prestige and elegance of the Ma-

serati GranTurismo equipped with

the MC Sport Line Kit, find the na-

tural habitat, alongside the Royal

Champagne and Bollinger. Here

we encounter the Gueux circuit,

which in the ‘50s was the scene of

epic battles between the most fa-

mous drivers. In 2011 we celebrated

the 100th Anniversary of the birth of

Juan Manuel Fangio, who in 1958

choose Reims for his last race, fini-

shing 4th with the Maserati 250F.

The SP1 is the first car commissio-

ned to Ferrari as part of the pro-

gram “Special Project” mandated

to produce exclusive one of a kind

models. This is typical of Ferrari

and a return to its roots when back

in the ‘ 50s and ‘60s a customer

could ask for a tailormade model

from an existing chassis or engine.

Junichiro Hiramatsu decided his su-

percar had to be designed by Le-

onardo Fioravanti, in the 20th anni-

versary of his company, who chose

the F430 as the base model with

modifications to the aerodynamics.
